This environmental talk is hosted by Dr Ahimsa Campos-Arceiz on 24th of November 2015. He is the associate professor from School of Geography, UNMC as well as the Principal Investigator of Management & Ecology of Malaysian Elephants project (MEME). The aim of this talk is highlighting the awareness of megafauna conservation issues and sharing the importance of megafauna to the public. The talk covers the importance and role of megafauna in seed dispersal. Also, the consequences in loss of the elephants, and discuss the conservation actions that could be done to protect them. Audience was introduced to the function of MEME too. The attendance for the talk was great; more than 30 people attended the talk, including current students and alumni across the faculty and school. At the end of the talk, refreshments were distributed to the attendees as a gesture of appreciation.
