'Zoo Keeper for a Day: Zoo Negara Volunteer Programme 2014’ was held on 1st of November 2014 (Saturday) at Zoo Negara, Hulu Kelang, Ampang. The event organiser is the assistant event executive of Nature Club, Doi Jia Xin, in collaboration with the Education Office of Zoo Negara.
Pre sign-up to this event was opened during the Orientation Night of Nature Club.Forty volunteers, mostly Nature Club’s members joined in this meaningful programme.On the 1st of November, all forty participants arrived at Zoo Negara at 7.30a.m.
After registration, a short safety briefing is given by the Education Officer. Volunteers were then divided into groups randomly and work is distributed by the zoo officer. It was a full-day programme and it lasted for a total of eight hours (8.30a.m. -4.30p.m.). Volunteers were back to University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus at 6.30p.m.
